KBME, Houston “SportsTalk 790” air personality Cole Thompson was let go from the sports talk outlet as part of the staffing cuts happening at iHeartMedia. The Houston Chronicle reports that Thompson joined SportsTalk 790 in 2024 and was promoted last November to co-host “The Morning Drive with Dan & Cole” alongside Dan Mathews, who continues to host mornings solo. Similarly, Trevor Carey confirms to the Fresno Bee that he is no longer with KALZ-FM, Fresno “Power Talk,” where he spent the last 10 years hosting the afternoon drive program. Carey is quoted saying about his final day, “It was almost like going to a living funeral. It is good to have hugs and hear how people really feel about you.” See the Fresno Bee story here.
