iHeartPodcasts announces today that sleep and relaxation podcast, “Nothing Much Happens: Bedtime Stories to Help You Sleep,” joins the iHeartPodcast Network. Since April 2018, “Nothing Much Happens” has delivered peaceful and relaxing content to listeners around the world. The popular series has been widely recognized for its excellence, originality, and production design. As part of the deal, the two will also coproduce and distribute new podcast concepts in English as well as other languages.

Audacy and K-STATE athletics announce a multiyear broadcast partnership in which KFH-AM/FM, Wichita will become the new market affiliate for Wildcat football and basketball. Mobile Radio Partners launches a sports betting format on WTOX-AM, Richmond, Virginia using content from VSiN, The Sports Betting Network. The station is being branded “Richmond’s Best Bet, 1480-The Line.” Station general manager Mark Smith comments, “The new format will bring 24-hour sports betting programming to Richmond for the first time. The Society of Broadcast Engineers announces that the Robert W. Flanders SBE Engineer of the Year award for 2023 is presented to Joseph Conlon of Inver Grove Heights, MN, and a current member of SBE Chapter 17 Central Minnesota. The James C. Wulliman SBE Educator of the Year award is Andrew Gladding, CBT, of Brooklyn, NY, and a member of SBE Chapter 15 New York City. Gladding has been an SBE Member for eight years and is the secretary of Chapter 15. In his role as adjunct professor for audio production at Hofstra University, he has taken numerous steps to recruit and engage new SBE members by teaching them about the broadcasting business and engineering in particular. He is solely responsible for the addition of 40 student members to Chapter 15.

SiriusXM sports talk personality Christopher “Mad Dog” Russo is making his return to Bar Anticipation in Lake Como, New Jersey, for a special live broadcast of his show on August 4 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. This is Russo’s first broadcast at the popular Jersey Shore venue since 2007. He says, “Bar A, I’m back, baby! The summer show was always a blast. WKBN-TV, Youngstown, Ohio reports that a Northeast Ohio couple are in custody in Columbiana County jail after an incident at The Original Road House in East Palestine. Ohio where John Fredericks, Steve Bannon and others were broadcasting live at a radio town hall event. The station reports Alfred Ferrara of Cleveland and Mary Schroeder of Hudson, Ohio showed up at the restaurant and created a disturbance. Ferrara is being charged with inducing panic and resisting arrest after threatening to shoot up the restaurant. The two left the scene and ended up at the village’s water and sewer plant where their car got stuck in a tank of raw sewage.

Audacy’s sports talk outlet WJFK-FM, Washington, DC “106.7 The Fan” announces a multi-year extension to its flagship broadcast and digital partnership with MLB’s Washington Nationals. As part of the extended partnership, Nationals baseball will continue to be heard on “106.7 The Fan” and streamed digitally via the Audacy app for fans within the Nationals broadcast territory. Audacy’s Cadence13 Studios announces a partnership with Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning writer, actress, producer and director Amy Poehler’s Paper Kite Productions – the production company behind shows including “Russian Doll,” “Broad City,” and “Harlem” – for a 30-episode comedy franchise featuring stories that parody and pay homage to popular themes in the podcast space. — SiriusXM announces that six-time PGA TOUR winner Rocco Mediate is joining the roster of hosts on its SiriusXM PGA TOUR Radio channel.
