Cumulus Media Announces Two New Podcasts from the Rich Eisen Podcast Network. Actor O’Sheaim Jackson, Jr. is hosting the new weekly podcast “No-Contest Wrestling” with co-host TJ Jefferson the show combines Jackson’s and Jefferson’s unique takes on sports entertainment by interviewing the biggest stars, going behind the scenes with untold stories from the world of wrestling. The second show is “The Jim Jackson Show,” hosted by two-time All-American and 14-year NBA veteran Jim Jackson. In this show, Jackson covers basketball from the college game to the highest levels of the NBA. Eisen says, “I’ve been in a constant search for new, fresh, thought-provoking, and entertaining voices to add to our growing podcast business, and I’m thrilled to add both O’Shea Jackson, Jr. and Jim Jackson to the roster.”

VSiN Partners with Interstate 15 Agency. VSiN, The Sports Betting Network, announces a strategic partnership with sports and entertainment marketing agency Interstate 15. Following the network being acquired in 2021, VSiN was bought back by Musburger Media and says it is now “poised to further enhance its brand and broaden its reach.” VSiN president and chief business officer Brian Musburger says, “We’re excited to leverage this partnership to enhance VSiN’s brand and further accelerate our growth. With Jason Gastwirth’s vast understanding of entertainment strategy and his relationships in Las Vegas, Jamie Fritz’s connections to sports legends and Greg Cannon’s track record creating, launching and building brands, Interstate 15’s proven expertise will help VSiN tap into the cache and star power that make Las Vegas the entertainment capital of the world.”

WGRT, Port Huron, Michigan Signs with Virtual News Center. Port Huron Family Radio, Inc. station will use daily newscasts anchored by JP bZett. Station GM Marty Dorn says, “We are thrilled to partner with Virtual News Center to bring timely and reliable news updates to our radio station listeners.”

NAB Announces 2023 Marconi Winners

NAB announced the winners of the 2023 Marconi Awards at last night’s ceremony at NAB Show Newim York. The spoken-word winners included: Legendary Radio Station of the Year – all-news KCBS-AM, San Francisco; Network/Syndicated Personality of the Year – Rich Eisen, Westwood One; Best Podcast of the Year – “The Letter,” KSL-FM, Salt Lake City; News/Talk Station of the Year – WTOP-FM, Washington, DC; and Sports Station of the Year – WBZ-FM, Boston.

Cumulus and Rich Eisen Expand Partnership

Cumulus Media and sports media personality Rich Eisen announce a new deal with the Cumulus Podcast Network to distribute, market, and monetize all existing and forthcoming podcasts with the newly formed Rich Eisen Podcast Network. This includes Eisen’s latest production, “What The Football with Suzy Shuster and Amy Trask,” which debuts on September 12. Most recently, Eisen launchedim “Overreaction Monday” on September 4 that expands on the most popular segment of his flagship podcast, “The Rich Eisen Show,” into its own weekly podcast with Eisen and co-host Chris Brockman reflecting on the biggest fan- and hysterical media-driven overreactions from the previous weekend’s professional and college football games. To support his growing podcast network, Eisen has built an expanded studio and team in El Segundo, California with state-of-the-art recording equipment and set design. Eisen says, “Since joining the Cumulus family, they have shown unwavering support for my vision in growing my brand. As I have expanded my suite of services, they were the only ones I wanted to do business with, and I couldn’t think of a better place for my voice and productions to be heard over the coming years.” In addition to his podcast network, Eisen hosts the pregame and halftime shows for Westwood One’s syndicated “Monday Night Football” coverage and anchors “The Rich Eisen Show,” also syndicated by Westwood One for national radio.

Sports media personality broadcaster Rich Eisen will host the 2023 Marconi Radio Awards Dinner on October 25 during NAB Show New York. Record producer and radio host DJ Scratch, who performed at last year’s event, will provide live music.

iHeartPodcasts announces today that sleep and relaxation podcast, “Nothing Much Happens: Bedtime Stories to Help You Sleep,” joins the iHeartPodcast Network. Since April 2018, “Nothing Much Happens” has delivered peaceful and relaxing content to listeners around the world. The popular series has been widely recognized for its excellence, originality, and production design. As part of the deal, the two will also coproduce and distribute new podcast concepts in English as well as other languages.
