Glenn Beck and Mercury One Deliver Aid to Asheville Residents

Premiere Networks nationally syndicated personality Glenn Beck and his non-profit organization Mercury One visited Asheville, North Carolina to deliver much-needed aid in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. Mercury One is partnering with U.S. Rep. Cory Mills of Florida and the United Cajun Navy to deliver baby supplies, personal hygiene products, diapers, paper towels, and non-perishable food to North Carolina. Using more than 30 helicopters, they worked together to deliver more than 10 tons of supplies so far. They even flew a local woman to a hospital so she could receive lifesaving care. One hundred percent of every donation to Mercury One goes directly to providing relief to Hurricane Helene victims in desperate need. Please consider donating at MercuryOne.org. Boden to Lead Cumulus Fayetteville

Cumulus Media announces that Tish Boden is appointed vice president/market manager for its Fayetteville, North Carolina station group that includes news/talk WFNC-AM and three music brands. She has beenim serving with the company in the same capacity in Shreveport, Louisiana.  Boden takes over for Cheryl Salomone, who announced her retirement earlier this year. Cumulus SVP of operations Mark Sullivan states, “Tish Boden has been an impactful leader with a strong record of success. I’m happy for her to be closer to her family and happy for our team in Fayetteville, as they are welcoming a strong leader. I’m also grateful for the time that I had to work alongside Cheryl Salomone and thank her for her meaningful contributions to the company and to the Fayetteville community. We wish her the very best in her retirement.”

“Goldy” Retires from WFNC, Fayetteville, North Carolina

Today (12/1) was the last day on Cumulus Media’s news/talk WFNC-AM, Fayetteville, North Carolina for Jeff “Goldy” Goldberg. He closed out his 45-year radio career – the last 18 years of which haveim been spent at WFNC – with a special broadcast of “Good Morning Fayetteville” called, “Goldy’s Last Hurrah.” He tells Bill Kirby Jr. at CityViewNC, “Since I announced my retirement a few weeks ago, the outpouring of love and the good wishes from not only my listeners here in Fayetteville, but my listeners in Washington D.C., has been overwhelming. It has been a privilege and a joy to live out my dream for these last 45 years, and to have a second chapter like the one I’ve had here in Fayetteville exceeded my wildest dreams.”

Beasley Media Group Launches Podcast Radio U.S. Format in Four Markets

Beasley Media Group is partnering with Podcast Radio and KMG Networks for a new “podcast multiplatform radio format in four regions across the company.” Beasley says this unique format will be available to listeners via broadcast on WCSX-HD2/W228CJ, Detroit “Podcast Radio Detroit”; WJBR-AM, Tampa (formerly WHFS-AM) “Podcast Radio Tampa Bay”; WSOC-HD3/W234BY, Charlotte “Podcast Radio Carolinas”; and WXKB-HD2/W243BM, Fort Myers & W268AH/W286AK, Naples, Florida “Podcast Radioim Southwest Florida.” The stations can also be streamed and consumed as podcasts via PodcastRadioUS.com. Podcast Radio states, “Podcast Radio features live ‘Podjocks’, including former KROQ-FM, Los Angeles personality and legendary Radio Hall of Famer Gene ‘Bean’ Baxter. The format will showcase the very best produced and popular podcasts from the United States and all over the world, including audio content from TedAudio (TedTalk), Wondery, Evergreen, Corus, and more! The initiative with Beasley is the first of its kind for the company in the United States. The format will be offered to radio stations and groups on a network/barter basis via KMG Networks. iHeartPodcasts and Imagine Entertainment, the global entertainment company founded by Ron Howard and Brian Glazer, unveil “Big Sugar,” a new investigative podcast about the multimillion-dollar sugar industry. iHeartPodcasts says, “‘Big Sugar’ is a true crime story unlike any other that centers on the epic legal battle pitting the multimillion-dollar sugar industry against the migrant laborers who harvest sugarcane, while revealing corporate malfeasance, human rights violations, DC lobbying, nutrition downfalls and the destruction of the environment.” The series is hosted by Celeste Headlee, an award-winning, internationally recognized journalist and author who has hosted shows for NPR, WNYC and PBS.

SiriusXM announces it is launching a special pop-up channel dedicated to the world-famous Formula One Monaco Grand Prix and the Principality of Monaco itself, one of the world’s most glamorous locales and home to one of auto racing’s most prestigious events. The special channel will be available on Saturday, June 24 and Sunday, June 25. In a special SiriusXM broadcast event, H.S.H. WFNC-FM Food Drive Assists Fayetteville Food Bank

Cumulus Media’s news/talk WFNC-FM, Fayetteville, North Carolina announces that the station collected a total of 15,780 pounds of non-perishable food items for Fayetteville’s Second Harvest Food Bank through a food drive and live broadcast on Saturday (5/13). Morning show host Jeff “Goldy” Goldberg (pictured above posing for a picture with some donors) broadcast live from a Food Lion grocery store.
