Cumulus Media Announces Two New Podcasts from the Rich Eisen Podcast Network. Actor O’Sheaim Jackson, Jr. is hosting the new weekly podcast “No-Contest Wrestling” with co-host TJ Jefferson the show combines Jackson’s and Jefferson’s unique takes on sports entertainment by interviewing the biggest stars, going behind the scenes with untold stories from the world of wrestling. The second show is “The Jim Jackson Show,” hosted by two-time All-American and 14-year NBA veteran Jim Jackson. In this show, Jackson covers basketball from the college game to the highest levels of the NBA. Eisen says, “I’ve been in a constant search for new, fresh, thought-provoking, and entertaining voices to add to our growing podcast business, and I’m thrilled to add both O’Shea Jackson, Jr. and Jim Jackson to the roster.”

VSiN Partners with Interstate 15 Agency. VSiN, The Sports Betting Network, announces a strategic partnership with sports and entertainment marketing agency Interstate 15. Following the network being acquired in 2021, VSiN was bought back by Musburger Media and says it is now “poised to further enhance its brand and broaden its reach.” VSiN president and chief business officer Brian Musburger says, “We’re excited to leverage this partnership to enhance VSiN’s brand and further accelerate our growth. With Jason Gastwirth’s vast understanding of entertainment strategy and his relationships in Las Vegas, Jamie Fritz’s connections to sports legends and Greg Cannon’s track record creating, launching and building brands, Interstate 15’s proven expertise will help VSiN tap into the cache and star power that make Las Vegas the entertainment capital of the world.”

WGRT, Port Huron, Michigan Signs with Virtual News Center. Port Huron Family Radio, Inc. station will use daily newscasts anchored by JP bZett. Station GM Marty Dorn says, “We are thrilled to partner with Virtual News Center to bring timely and reliable news updates to our radio station listeners.”

Radio pro Jim Watkins is self-syndicating a daily one-hour show called, “Speaking Out with Jim Watkins.” He calls it a “truly thoughtful one-hour show that gives people a snapshot of America right now.” Current affiliate stations include: KMZQ, Las Vegas; KFXR, Dallas; KPRC, Houston; KTMS, Santa Barbara; KVTA, Ventura; KSBN, Spokane; KIKO, Phoenix; and KWWV-HD, San Luis Obispo. SiriusXM announces that Subaru expands the installation of SiriusXM to make the audio entertainment offering a standard feature beginning with its entire model year 2025 vehicle lineup in the United States. SiriusXM with 360L combines satellite and streaming content delivery into a single, cohesive in-vehicle entertainment experience.

Beasley Broadcast Group, Inc will report its 2023 fourth quarter and full year financial results before the market opens on Monday, February 12. Beasley will host a conference call and webcast at 11:00 am ET that morning to review the results.

Aiir Inc announces that Andy Buckingham rejoins the company next month in the new role of principal creative technologist. Buckingham was previously SVP, product innovation until leaving in 2020 to launch his own company Togglebit. Aiir Inc CEO Ricki Lee says, “After leaving Aiir full-time a few years ago, we retained Andy’s company for development work and he has played a pivotal part in the development of our new product Aiir Scheduler, the world’s first fully cloud-based music scheduler for radio. I cannot tell you how delighted I am to be welcoming Andy back to our team full-time.”

iHeartPodcasts and Imagine Entertainment, the global entertainment company founded by Ron Howard and Brian Glazer, unveil “Big Sugar,” a new investigative podcast about the multimillion-dollar sugar industry. iHeartPodcasts says, “‘Big Sugar’ is a true crime story unlike any other that centers on the epic legal battle pitting the multimillion-dollar sugar industry against the migrant laborers who harvest sugarcane, while revealing corporate malfeasance, human rights violations, DC lobbying, nutrition downfalls and the destruction of the environment.” The series is hosted by Celeste Headlee, an award-winning, internationally recognized journalist and author who has hosted shows for NPR, WNYC and PBS.

SiriusXM announces it is launching a special pop-up channel dedicated to the world-famous Formula One Monaco Grand Prix and the Principality of Monaco itself, one of the world’s most glamorous locales and home to one of auto racing’s most prestigious events. The special channel will be available on Saturday, June 24 and Sunday, June 25. In a special SiriusXM broadcast event, H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco sits down for a rare and wide-ranging one-on-one conversation in which he shares his insights into the Principality of Monaco, what makes Monaco’s Formula 1 Grand Prix so captivating for millions around the globe, Monaco’s future in F1, as well as some of the Prince’s other personal passions.

Saga Communications announces that it will release its First Quarter 2023 operating results at 9:00 am ET on Wednesday, May 3, 2023. The company will hold a conference call on the same date at 11:00 am ET.

Last Saturday (4/1) the ParaPod Awards were handed out at the Hyatt Regency Valencia as part of the two-day ParaPod Festival. The awards recognize the influencers and content creators working in the paranormal genre. ParaPod founder Tony Sweet says, “The mainstream awards seem to skip over paranormal content. However, it takes no less time, skill, and talent to cover our genre than it does any other. So, why not create an awards platform to celebrate these brilliant individuals?” Actress and podcaster Jillian Clare (“Days of Our Lives,” “Alien Abduction”) was on hand to present the podcast and documentary category awards.

Salem Media Group is promoting its planned coverage of the booking of former President Donald Trump in Manhattan today (4/4). Salem Radio Network talk personality Mike Gallagher leads the Special Report coverage streaming on the Salem News Channel at 2:00 pm ET.

Edison Research, in partnership with NPR, is presenting a webinar on April 13 at 2:00 pm ET titled, “Hit Play, Boomer! Podcasting’s Age 55+ Opportunity.” Edison says, “Forty-two percent of Baby Boomers in the U.S. – those age 55+ – have ever listened to a podcast. The National Association of Broadcasters announces its new campaign highlighting the importance of AM radio in the car for news, community engagement, entertainment and vital public safety information. The campaign includes a website with a grassroots call to action and new tools for stations to highlight the importance of AM radio. This campaign is being launched as some automakers have stripped AM radio out of certain vehicle models.

— Cumulus Media’s Westwood One –  the official network radio partner of the NCAA – is presenting the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship. Listeners will be able to hear play-by-play action from all 67 men’s basketball games including 32 first-round and second-round games, plus regional semifinals and finals. Westwood One is also broadcasting live coverage of NCAA Men’s Final Four on Saturday, April 2 and the National Championship Game on Monday, April 3 in both English and Spanish.

Using research from its “The Podcast Consumer: An Infinite Dial Report,” Edison Research is revealing which podcasts were tops in their genre based on weekly audience reach among weekly podcast listeners age 13+. — SiriusXM is presenting live broadcasts of every game of this week’s World Baseball Classic being played in Miami through March 21. SiriusXM is producing the national radio broadcasts for every Team USA game and 15 World Baseball Classic games in total including every game from Pool C in Phoenix, as well as the quarterfinals, semifinals and championship games played in Miami.

— iHeartMedia’s iHeartPodcasts and Frolic Media announce the debut of “Exit Interview,” a new dating experiment podcast. The 12-episode season is hosted and executive produced by Julie Krafchick and Yue Xu, known for their long-running podcast “Dateable.” “Exit Interview” features a deep dive into the experience of a featured dater, along with recorded feedback from their exes, friends and others in their life willing to offer insight into what might be going wrong in their dating life.

The Weather Channel and Skyview Networks announce the expansion of their partnership with the inclusion of SnoCountry Ski Reports. With this expansion, The Weather Channel and SnoCountry will utilize Skyview Networks’ network audio sales platforms and regionalization capabilities to provide winter ski reports to unique geographic audiences, giving listeners valuable ski resort conditions through the winter season.

SiriusXM PGA TOUR Radio is broadcasting from this year’s PGA Show in Orlando today (1/24) through Friday (1/27). The PGA Show is not open to the public and SiriusXM’s hosts will share with their audience insight into the latest in golf instruction, equipment, apparel and more. Listeners will also hear one-on-one interviews with many of the PGA Professionals in attendance at the event.
