Talk radio host Jeff Katz and Audacy get together on a new deal that keeps Katz on WRVA, Richmond where he’s been hosting the afternoon drive daypart for the past 13 years. Audacy notes that Katz has been recognized throughout the region for his charitable work. He has helped raise more than $1 million for Central Virginia charities and was appointed by Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin to the Virginia Board for People with Disabilities.
Urban One inks a new deal with EVP and chief financial officer Peter D. Thompson that will pay him an annual base salary of $750,000 plus his eligibility for an annual bonus. Thompson also receives a signing bonus of $333,333 subject to a pro-rata claw-
back if he leaves before the end of the term of the agreement. For each complete calendar year of the term of the deal, Thompson is eligible to receive an annual performance bonus of up to $300,000 with the opportunity to earn up to 132% of the target bonus for superior performance. Also, provided that the material weaknesses identified in the company’s Form 10-K for the period ended December 31, 2025, are remediated, at the end of the term of the Agreement, Thompson is eligible to receive bonus compensation in the amount of $850,000. He is also eligible to receive certain stock-based compensation.
According to a report from Yahoo Entertainment, Howard Stern appears to have struck a new deal to remain with SiriusXM. This comes a couple of weeks after reports indicated that Stern and the satcaster
would go their separate ways when his current contract ends later this year. The Yahoo story says, “A source affirmed that everything is a done deal in this regard, and all previous reports of him exiting the company were pure fallacy, per RadarOnline. The man of the hour himself also dropped a big hint on his social media, teasing an answer to all the questions hovering around his career very soon.” Stern’s own Instagram account posted the following: “Now we can reveal that all the questions will be answered.
