WABC, New York Wins 5 NYSBA Awards
Red Apple Media’s news/talk WABC Radio takes home five Excellence in Broadcasting Awards from New York State Broadcasters Association. The station won for the following: “The News of the Day” – Best
Regularly Scheduled Newscast; James Golden a.k.a. Bo Snerdley – Best Editorial/Commentary; “Back the Blue – A Tribute to the NYPD” – Best Live On Scene; Curtis Sliwa on Instagram – Best Use of Digital Platforms; and WABC Trolley and Broadcast From Columbus Day Parade – Best Live Local Coverage – Streaming on Social Media. Red Apple chief John Catsimatidis says, “When I bought WABC Radio, I said we were going to do things differently. We were going to tell the truth, and we were going to have fun. We have achieved both. I want to thank the New York State Broadcasters for this recognition.”

In addition, sports talk KNML and country KRST-FM were each recognized for excellence.
