Blaine Bishop Exits WGFX-FM, Nashville
Former Tennessee Titans safety and longtime WGFX-FM, Nashville “104.5 The Zone” air personality Blaine Bishop is no longer with the Cumulus Media station. Paul Kuharsky ( a former WGFX talk host
himself) reports that Bishop was let go from the midday “Cover Two” program where he co-hosted with Zach Lyons. Kuharsky says Bishop’s exit “stemmed from a non-physical altercation.” Lyons read the following statement yesterday (10/22): “Before we get started, I want to acknowledge that Blaine Bishop is no longer with ‘104.5 The Zone.’ We thank Blaine for all of his contributions over the years to the station, our listeners and to Nashville’s sports community. We wish him the best moving forward.” See Paul Kuharsky’s coverage here.

Cumulus Media has appointed Zach Lyons as co-host for afternoon sports radio show, “Blaine and Zach,” on its Nashville outlet WGFX-FM (104.5 The Zone). Lyons joins co-host, Blaine Bishop, former Tennessee Titans safety and a four-time Pro Bowler. Bishop retired following the 2002 season capping an outstanding 10-year NFL playing career, featuring nine seasons with the Titans franchise. In addition to the weekday show, Lyons will join Brent Dougherty, Lucas Panzica, and Kevin Dyson as co-host of the station’s Titans postgame show, “Titan Talk Back.” Lyons is best known for co-founding broadwaysportsmedia.com and for hosting the popular sports podcast, “Football and Other F Words,” which will join the podcast lineup on the 104.5 The Zone Podcast Network.
