Carolla Podcast Tops iTunes. Just as TALKERS magazine publishes its “Frontier Fifty – A Selection of Outstanding Talk Media Webcasters” in the March issue and on this site, of course, the L.A. Daily News reports former CBS Radio talk host Adam Carolla’s new podcast is often one of iTunes’ number one podcasts. Carolla began doing the podcast immediately after ending his radio show as CBS Radio blew up KLSX-FM, Los Angeles and flipped it to CHR. Former KLSXers Tim Conway, Jr. and Brian Whitman are also doing creative and popular podcasts. In a related note, former WYSP-FM, Philadelphia host Kidd Chris tells the Philadelphia Daily News he’ll begin podcasting in May. In case you haven’t seen the “Frontier Fifty” list, it’s right here.

Premiere Syndicates Elvis Duran Morning Show. The successful WHTZ-FM, New York-based “Elvis Duran and the Morning Show” program is picked up for national syndication by Premiere Radio Networks. Duran says, “It’s such a thrill to be aligned with the world’s most far-reaching, respected radio network. This alliance will bring millions of new listeners, opening doors to unique marketing and sales opportunities.” The program is currently also heard on WHYI-FM, Miami; WIOQ-FM, Philadelphia; and WAKS-FM, Cleveland.

MSNBC Overtakes CNN in Cable News/Talk Ratings. The Associated Press reports that MSNBC is poised to pass CNN in the March ratings among cable news/talk channels for the first time. Fox News Channel continues its dominance as its viewership is up 30%. But MSNBC’s 24% increase puts it ahead of CNN.
